An Ideal Retreat...
Huerta Colibrí is a permaculture farm, a fruit orchard, and an intentional community located in the Mexican highlands. We offer short and long term rental opportunities, and occasionally are available for guided tours of the sustainable systems on the property.
Facilities at Huerta Colibrí include:
- A wood-fired, Finnish style sauna
- Laundry, both hand washing and machine washing
- Wi-fi internet
- Indoor and outdoor kitchens
- Hot water showers
- Drinking, cooking, and bathing water provided by a well
- Comfortable, spacious living areas
- Refrigeration
- When available, fruits from the orchard and vegetables from the gardens

Renting at Huerta Colibrí offers an opportunity to experience living sustainably. You'll use solar hot water heaters, solar panels, solar cooking, and living off the generous bounty from the fruit trees on the property. Huerta Colibrí is a quiet retreat, great for artists, writers or people who desire to live in tranquil, rural settings. Enjoy sunrise over the view of Lake Pátzcuaro, an early day sauna, and an afternoon walk in the forests.
